G-Research PhD Scholarships

G-Research is funding three PhD studentships for the CDT in Designing Responsible NLP, – one studentship per year for the 2025, 2026 and 2027 studentship competitions. The G-Research scholarships are awarded to Home fees students, and for the September 2026 cohort this scholarship will also benefit from the TechFirst additional funding. There is no specific route to apply for these studentships – applicants should just apply for the standard competition, and students selected to receive an offer of one of the G-Research scholarships will be informed after interview.

The G-Research scholarships come with the same stipend funding and a similar amount of addition research and training grant support to the standard studentships the CDT funds. However, the G-Research scholarship recipients also benefit from mentorship and a range of career development opportunities offered by G-Research and others, including:

• A bi-annual career mentorship meeting with a G-Research Quantitative Researcher
• Invitations to presentations and seminars
• A place on G-Research’s Spring into Quant Finance programme during the second year of the scholarship
• An annual dinner hosted by G-Research
• Brand ambassador status
